We’re delighted to invite you to our next concert, “Songs of Resistance and Hope” — an evening of powerful choral music inspired by movements that have challenged injustice and imagined a better world.

Music from movements that changed the world
Under the direction of James Naylor, Waltham Forest Community Choir will share songs connected with:
- LGBTQ+ rights and the fight for equality
- The American Civil Rights movement
- The Suffrage movement
- Resistance to Apartheid
- Voices of hope amid the Ukraine war
- And other stories of courage, solidarity, and change
These are songs that have carried people through dark and uncertain times — songs of protest, resilience and hope that still speak powerfully today.

Just to let you know about two great concerts coming up in Leytonstone this month!
Sunday 22nd June

LILY SKINNER (Soprano Sax) JAKE PHILLIPS (Alto Sax) AMADEA TOPALI (Tenor Sax) LOUIS SUC (Baritone Sax)
A welcome return to The Music for All concerts at the church for this quartet of young, very talented musicians and performers, who aim to show the versatility of the saxophone across a wide range of musical styles, ranging from the French Classical tradition to Jazz, Latin and Folk. Their wonderful, very entertaining concert last year certainly wowed the audience!

Travel to different Latin American countries with these accomplished and experienced performers, exploring colourful and varied musical landscapes, from Bossa Nova classics, to traditional songs and original compositions, some no doubt familiar and some perhaps completely new!
An exciting collaboration showcasing different strands of the rich and vibrant Latin American musical tapestry!

The Waltham Forest Community Choir is poised to collaborate again with Tom Randle and Gillian Keith at St Barnabas for Handel's Messiah.
This event represents the choir's fourth consecutive annual performance, a highlight of the year.
The concert will take place at St Barnabas Church, E17 8JZ, on Sunday, 24th November at 4pm, showcasing a professional period orchestra and world-class soloists.
Don't miss out on the thrilling sing-along rendition of the famous Hallelujah Chorus. Be sure to secure your tickets early, as this event is known to attract large audiences.

Panto season is back!

Walthamstow Trades Hall Community Panto's performance of RAPunzel is festive fun for all the family!
Other Theresa’s dynamically re-imagined version of the Brothers Grimm tale is alive and kicking with spoken word and rap.You’ll be in for a toe-tapping, thigh-slapping rollercoaster of a ride, with a dazzling cast of local talent drawn from open auditions (including WFCC's very own Norman Minter) and there’ll be plenty of opportunities for you to play a part!

- Life After Cancer Update

We have recently received the following email from Steph at Life After Cancer.
Thanks to your choir, I'm running the Life after Cancer programme online. It’s free (thanks to you all), will run weekly for 6 weeks from 2/June. There’s been lots of interest + there are 2 spaces left.
The programme will help adults to fulfil their potential after cancer by dealing early on with some of the issues that may have arisen from their diagnosis. I will encourage them to trust their whole self and to support them to live in a way that is in line with who they are after cancer. The support they receive reduces the risk of serious mental distress and helps them to build a positive life after their cancer experience.
A big thank you to all our members and supporters who have made this happen.
