  • St Andrew's Lunchtime Concert, 19th May 2026

    "I thought that the concert was very enjoyable. The choir, which seemed much larger than when they performed for us before, certainly made a splendid sound and I thought that the programme was very well-constructed - a nice balance between familiar items and less familiar ones. I was particularly struck by 'Bring Me a Little Water Sylvie' and the Prayer for Ukraine while 'Gimme, Gimme. Gimme' made a wonderfully rousing finale and the choir really looked as though they were enjoying themselves. Also, at about 45mins, the concert didn't go on too long! It's always good to leave the audience wanting more. Congratulations to the conductor and pianist for coaxing such an accomplished performance from such a large and diverse group of performers."

    Handel's Messiah Nov 2019

    Dear 'Messiah' Artists;

    I just wanted to send a little message to say a HUGE thank you for your invaluable contribution to last weekend's 'Messiah' performance.

    It's no exaggeration to say that this was one of the biggest and best events to take place during the entire 2019 Waltham Forest Borough of Culture and were absolutely thrilled to see St Barnabas filled to capacity - something I've never seen before - with people from all over the area.

    The feedback we've received has been nothing short of amazing and the overall response to the concert has been overwhelming - a combination of surprise and utter delight at the quality and integrity of your performance. (One of the most perfect quotes we got was: 'Albert Hall quality at Albert Square prices.' ) Best of all, people are already making plans to attend next year's event.

    I also want to thank in particular the Waltham Forest Community Choir who simply outdid themselves and sang out of their collective skins. You should all feel immensely proud of what you accomplished, and in such a short amount of time. Of course, we not only want you back next year, but to play an even larger part in the performance.

    Thank you all for being so brilliant, so professional, and for making my job so easy. It was an honour and a privilege to stand in front of you and make music together.

    With all my gratitude,
    - Tom Randle

  • Haven House

    On behalf of Haven House Children's Hospice I would like to say a big thank you to your lovely choir for participating in our Bucket-a-thon and singing in aid of Haven House at Stratford station, Tue 13 Dec. I am delighted to say that collectively we raised an amazing £1916.43 on the day, which I'm sure you will agree is a brilliant amount. Hoping you and Waltham Forest Community Choir is very proud for being a part of this event. We are so grateful to your team for a wonderful presentation and your kind support of Haven House Children's Hospice and for accommodating a charity performance, especially at such a busy time of year.

    Thanks

    Aastha
